Seven Different Types of Granite
Local artist, Brian Worley, came to us with a historical Route 66 public art project. He created a landscape scene depicting the San Gabriel mountains with some of Route 66’s popular attractions. Some of La Verne’s history was etched onto the granite, such as the old Mt. Baldy Drive-In Theatre, Wilson’s Diner formerly in La Verne, the classic Route 66 sign, and oranges. Citrus groves were once a common sight when traveling on the world-famous road. We sourced seven different types of stone to recreate the designer’s vision.
